Description

The Multi-Mission Axe is a rescue and survival tool built for the unforgiving environments encountered by military, law enforcement and emergency response professionals. The core of the axe is a single piece of hardened S7 tool steel, a steel formulated to withstand extreme shock and impact.

From head to tail, the MMA has function and performance in mind. The head features a 3.9" cutting edge, bolt-on hammer and hex wrench tool. The tail has an angled pry bar, seatbelt cutter and sheet metal cutter. The handle offers multiple hand positions for optimizing your grip for the particular chopping, hammering or prying job at hand. It utilizes shaped G10 handle scales designed to keep your hands in place even in extreme conditions. Wet or dry, your grip will stay secure.

Portability is a factor in any operation, and Outland has you covered with the MMA Modular Sheath. The sheath securely holds the axe using internal latch features and two BioThane® Coated Webbing straps. It allows for both easy access and deployment. The Modular Sheath can accept accessories for mounting on a belt or MOLLE gear, hang from a shoulder strap or bolt to a vehicle. The carry options are endless.

The Multi-Mission Axe will prove useful and dependable on any mission. Outland's axes are machined and assembled in New Hampshire.

    Ax

Very happy with the Ax well built and very solid! A little pricey but if you want quality you have to pay for it. Well worth the price.

MMA 1502 the one tool option

I bought this as a 1 tool option and it fits all that criteria. The fit and finish is spot-on. I spent a lot of time chopping wood and at the junkyard chopping up cars. The heat treat is excellent, there was no rolling or chipping of the edge. The Edge retention was very good. It chops wood as well as a wood axe of the same size in my opinion. It feather sticks well and splits logs up to 5 in. I bought it with the hammer attachment which works very well also purchased a spike attachment. The spike is a Tanto Spike which is the most efficient and strongest tip to have for full penetration. You can also twist apart padlocks with it. I also got the full sheath and put a shoulder strap on it, it also will attach Tech locks Etc very well. I also got the blade guard which is nice for around the campsite when you are not carrying it. Very well-made sheaths and blade guard. The pry bar works perfectly and the sheet metal cutter , cuts very well once you get the hang of it . Chris at Outland equipment was excellent, he took care of me. I am a US Marine and he gave me a military discount which was awesome. I would highly recommend this one tool option to anyone.

    Fire19

The 1502 MMA is the best personal rescue/survival tool that I have found. The design and quality is unmatched. From a fire service point of view, it takes less than two seconds to securely snap it to an air pack (or the belt of your harness under your coat for no snags) before making entry into a building. It would be a nice tool to grab onto if you were having a bad day and needed to create an emergency egress. I know what you fire guys and girls are thinking, you would already have bigger and better tools with you right? Things can change rapidly. What if you put your tools down to drag a victim and you get turned around and trapped or are caught in a collapse? There is also a fair chance that a fall through a roof or a floor could make you drop your primary tool as well.

I've been puttin' to use my 1502 for over a month now. The 3 functions I've had to employ is the pry bar, hammer an' hatchet blade ( with the blade bein' the primary use ). This is an awesome tool an' I would recommend to anybody. The only thing I keep finding that works against me, is when I'm splittin' kindling for the wood stove... Where the hammer attaches, it gets hung up, when I'm splittin' wood. If it was tapered down it would most likely never get hung up. With that said, I still think Outland is above the competition with functionality an' price.

First off, I have to say, for the price, this is great quality an' well worth every penny. It's my EDC for my truck, an' though it has multiple functions, its primary use is for splittin' firewood for kindlin'. I work up in the mtns of NC so a tool such as this can an' will come in handy. I would like to see other attachments to replace the hammer but honestly, the hammer is more useful than a spike. Y'all are awesome, an' I'm proud to own such an badass multi hatchet... Wish I could post pics on this review, cause I got some I'd like to share for those considering buyin' one.

Outstanding quality. Astoundingly well thought and built. It makes me feel I am the owner of a 6x6 car. Using it for a week on Tørrfisk, Norwegian dry fish which axes and machetes bounce off the skin, and for which a hacksaw can hardly do the job, this axe has withstood the assault. I don’t think we can find such a tool here in Europe. Every size of hand fit. The tail is lightly curved to facilitate prying. I am looking forward to further accessories beside the bolt-on hammer at this end. Undoubtedly five stars.

I reached out to this company a few months ago, asked to be put on the list when some units became available. I have had it in my hands for a week now, I can feel good about recommending this without hesitation. Fit and finish are excellent, the capabilities and function are first rate. To hold one is to want one for sure. There are a lot of competitors out there, don't try to justify a cheaper substitute. You'll depend on this, because it is that good. I was not compensated for this review and you won't see me on the internet chopping a stick or giving survival tips :) Buy good stuff and it will pay you back when you need it. Jahn Q
